"Abuela" means grandmother in Spanish. We are Ana, Brane, Kaya, Petra and Grandma Ana — a family from South America with Croatian roots. Our Croatian grandmother's dream was to see her grandchildren living in her beach house in Brela, and receiving guests in it. In 2011 we made it real: we refurbished the whole house and turned its big rooms into holiday apartments.

Fourteen years later, Abuela's Beach House has been #1 in Brela on TripAdvisor since 2012 and holds a 9.9 guest rating on Booking.com. We think the reason is simple: we live here, we welcome every guest personally, and we chose the quiet side of Brela — where the beach is 50 meters away and never crowded.

Guests come to us from Germany, Sweden, Norway, the UK, Poland, the Czech Republic, and the US. Many come back. Some have watched our kids grow up. That's exactly what our abuela wanted.
